YUVAA AAPDA MITRA Volunteers Training @ NICHE Kanyakumari

Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu State Disaster Management Authority and the Kanniyakumari District Administration, inaugurated the YUVAA AAPDA MITRA Volunteers Training Programme, a seven-day initiative designed to equip students and volunteers with essential disaster preparedness and emergency response skills.

The inaugural function was graced by the District Collector of Kanniyakumari, with the presence of the District Revenue Officer, District Revenue Officer (Disaster Management), Revenue Divisional Officer, and other officials from the District Administration. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed by Tessy Thomas, Vice-Chancellor, K. A. Janardhanan, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Administration), A. Shajin Nargunan, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academics), P. Thirumalvalavan, Registrar, along with faculty members and university officials.

The seven-day training programme focuses on disaster preparedness, first aid, rescue operations, emergency response, and community resilience, empowering participants to become responsible volunteers capable of serving society effectively during emergencies. The initiative reflects NICHE’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible citizens equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to contribute to disaster management and community safety.
